Point Washington Real Estate

Headed north on SR 395 out of Seagrove Beach or on SR 283 out of Grayton Beach both roads reach US 98. It’s left or right to Okaloosa or Bay Counties at that point… unless you just go straight. One wouldn’t likely guess it if they didn’t already know but straight up either of those roads, cradled by 15,000 acres of state forest and the Choctawhatchee Bay sits a ‘locals favorite’ community with a land mass as large as Seagrove and Grayton combined.

Home to the magnificent and historic Eden State Park, Point Washington is a pristinely well kept and tasteful combination of older and newer homes virtually free from the stop-and-go hustle of it’s neighbor beach communities to the south. Originally a sawmill operation settlement of cabins and dredged bayous leading to the bay, it has now transformed into a bonafide sportsmen’s residential paradise for fishing, boating, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, and rowing— as well as hiking, biking and hunting in the Point Washington State Forest. While some vacation rentals are found here it is by majority a sprawling residential community comprised of several large and small neighborhoods with very little commercial / retail activity or congestion otherwise.

Considering it’s excellent ingress / egress to US 98 for travel and commuting; a perfectly centralized proximity to Elementary, Middle and High Schools (each within a mere couple miles); loads of immediate accesses options into the expanse of the Point Washington State Forest; while also being just a few miles from several world-renowned Gulf Coast of Mexico beach accesses… it’s no wonder that the community of Point Washington is a—if not THE— top choice for residents of South Walton County Florida to call home.
